Furniture Quality -
We select kiln dried, cabinet quality, Ponderosa Pine to create your heirloom quality piece. This furniture is made to last a lifetime and be handed down to your children. This furniture is not quickly assembled in assembly line fashion. It must undergo many steps to insure that you will be satisfied with the quality of your piece.
No screws or nails are used in fabrication. All pieces are solidly glued together with mortise and tenon and tongue and groove joints. It is extremely solid furniture. The carving seen in the photos is all done by hand. This is not a mechanical routing process. Mexican woodworkers use their old world skills handed down for generations to create beautifully crafted, quality furniture. All items in the Southwestern Carved Pine section are manufactured in our "maquidora" factory in Juarez, Mexico near the Mexican Border. They are then imported into the U.S. and shipped from our warehouse in the U.S. That's the reason for such great prices.
Hand Crafted Process -
The furniture is manufactured to American standards using kiln dried ponderosa pine, a cabinet quality pine that is a much denser heartwood pine (the finest quality), with a 6-9% moisture content (that means it won't tend to crack and shrink). A lot of time is taken in the initial sanding and all of the imperfections are filled. It is stained and checked again for imperfections and then touched-up and sanded again. It is then sealed with a clear coat to seal off the wood from the environment. Then your chosen stain or whitewashed finish is applied. Finally it is sprayed with a high quality semi-gloss Lacquer finish to complete the process. They use a time consuming hand assembly and fitting process but the finished product will last for a lifetime.
